Another Refreshing Perspective On Chodesh Elul
Everyone says"Teshuva Time"...The King is In The Field.." Take things seriously..be filled with fear and awe... this is leading up to the Day Of Judgment, To Yom Kippur etc etc
No doubt this time is a very special time.....but sometimes it sounds like well , no matter what you have done during the year , be serious now, pay attention, value your life now, repent now etc
Should we not be taking our lives seriously , valuing our lives, doing Teshuva etc the whole year through?
Of course we should!!!!!
So whats up??
I think that one important message for Chodesh Elul is..dont despair...don't give up on yourself...no matter how many times you have fallen, no matter how far you have fallen etc etc, their is always hope , things can change for the better...never ever give up .... So we get a booster month, where The King Is In The Field ...and we can do so much , go forward in ways that may have taken us longer during the year..we just have to want to ,take our lives seriously and put in the effort.

So much so that You Kippur...the most serious day of the year should be full of Repentance and Joy...Why??
Because we are filled with Joy that it is Hashem who judges us, no the limited perspective and bias of man....for when we have lost hope, think we cannot be loved any more, reached our fill of possibility, reached our limit of forgiving ourselves etc we take joy in knowing that Hashem has barely begun and we go forward with Joy
